GONZALO IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH...17 KM/H.
THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TODAY...FOLLOWED BY A
TURN TOWARD THE NORTHWEST TONIGHT. ON THE FORECAST TRACK...THE
CENTER OF GONZALO WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH THE NORTHERN
LEEWARD ISLANDS TONIGHT...AND BE NEAR OR OVER THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

How are we looking this am???

recovering slowly... the island sustained a lot of damage but most places are open and cleaning up and repairing.

I have seen many pictures now...devastating what wind can do!!Orient is in tough shape!

Barbara, Philippe, Elaine and all who live there and frequent this forum,

As saddened as we always are when these things happen, at least loss of life was at a minimum, or so we're now hearing.

St. Maarten/St. Martin(ers) are a strong, resourceful and resilient group of people. Its heart-breaking to see the photos and to hear the stories, knowing that so many have lost their livelihoods and most of their belongings. And as bad as this storm was and as ill-prepared as the various weather services were in keeping you who live there up to date, you've survived and come back from far worse and I've no doubt you'll make the best of this one, too.

God bless and my prayers go out to you all for a quiet remainder of the hurricane season.
