Webcam - Westin Dawn Beach Resort

The Westin Dawn Beach Resort has a webcam. It appears to be working, but just pointed down. For a time it pointed out over the pool and beach, and was a nice cam. I can't seem to reach anyone at the Westin that can hel get this fixed. Here is a link to the webcam

Been that way(direction) for several months, at least. They certainly have had time to correct it if they wanted. Maybe they have a Facebook page or website where you could leave a message?

I was able to exchange e-mail with Matt, the reservations manager, and he tried but was not able to help. For about a week in August it was pointing out across the pool and beach. Don't know who did what, but now it's back the way it was...

I've sent them messages to their FB page and got no response. looks like they turn it when they want to. I think last month it was turned towards the sea when Isaac was passing and we had some high surf.

Too bad they don't do more with it. When it's pointed out over the pool and the beach, it is a nice webcam. From what I've found, it has been installed for years, but never has actually been listed on their website so not many people know about it. It is a controllable webcam, but no one seems to know the password.

I always thought that the camera was controlled by the company that built the Westin, Columbia Suslemonade, as per this link, [islandcam.columbiasuslemonade.com]
I thought they were based in Tennessee.
But you're correct that Westin is losing a great marketing tool with the present setting.

Yes, I tried to reach them through e-mail as well, but no luck. I think you are right though, I believe they installed it and it has just never really been used.

Matt Karam, the local Reservations Manager was very helpful for a while, but I think he also ran out of things to try.
