dan - i'd say cotton as the pic says cotton fields! I say cow fields near G.C airport as well

its actually the field at the entrance to French cul de sac owned by the Laurence family...probably from around the early 1900's

Ok.. then actually it's along side the old Gd case Rd.. But in the book of Will Johnson, "For the love of St Maarten" the caption says " when cotton was king, Hope Estate", so I guess the whole area is called that way and not only where the quarry of Mr Petit is located!
