St. Martin on a shoestring budget

Hello there

I am thinking about heading to St. Martin in May for at least a week if not two.
One of the reasons I am choosing St. Martin is that i would like to practice my French a bit on that side of the island.

So I am basically looking for relatively cheap accomodation on the French side. Maybe in Oyster bay though I am open to suggestions.

I want a place where I can make my own food and easily get around to other parts of the island. What is the cheapest I am going to pay for a decent bungalow with kitchenette?
