Has anyone stayed at the Royal Palm Resort? What was it like? Nice, clean, friendly??

I own at Royal Palm. I've never heard any cleanliness complaints about it, as compared to Sapphire and have never had that problem there personally. It is a friendly resort, with every room looking out over Simpson Bay. It has a nice pool, not much of a beach, however. The only problem that has been mentioned recently is a probem with the lack of hot water from time to time, because of the solar heating system. I believe that this supposed to be corrected within the next month, if it hasn't already been corrected. I'm sure you will have a nice time there.

I never stayed there, but I own at the Flamingo and have used the gym at the Royal Palm and found it lacking. If you want to get a workout, you have to get there before 7:30 a.m. Friends of mine stayed there and said it was fine. The
first floor front desk, conceirge area is all open air leading out to the pool.
Clean and very inviting. At certain times of the day you get to watch the mega yaghts come and go. You should enjoy.

We usually stay on the other side of the island in the Dawn Beach/Oyster Pond area, but the last two trips stayed at Royal Palm. We loved both the hotel and the location.

The facility is very nice and the rooms have been redecorated fairly recently and are beautiful. As someone else mentioned, the beach isn't great but not bad. It's large, but the sand isn't white and soft like most of the other beaches. I guess because it's protected by a breakwater and doesn't get the tidal shifts other beaches do.

Anyway, you should love the resort and the location and you'll probably want to visit several beaches during your stay so Royal Palm's beach shouldn't be an issue.

Have fun.

I believe I read that the beach at Royal Palm is man-made. That may be another reason that the sand is rougher there.
