I am considering a position in St Maarten. I plan to bring a 6 year old dog with me and would like to rent a house (2-3 bedrooms) with a yard. My housing budget is about 2,000-2,500 (USD) a month. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to find some properties to consider. I plan to be in St. Maarten for a few days in the first part of September. I have visited in St. Maarten/St. Martin a number of times on vacations.

While here, visit the island real estate folks. They are your best bet.

It is next to impossible to find a job, and you must have a job before you arrive, your employer must submit and pay for working papers.

Hello,
had a question about the night clubs and entertainment industry. I worked in clubs for years as a dj and wanted to get an idea how many clubs are there? do the locals like 70 80s and 90s dance and top 40 music? Im really interested in living there and working in the clubs. Im 47 and ready for a change!

thanks so much!

The locals like Zouk, Merengue, Dancehall and HipHop smiling smiley A lot of Techno and Vocal House on the French side. The major clubs fly in top international DJ's for one-off shows. Beach bars etc have resident DJ's, most of whom have lived here for years.

Don't think it's going to fly unless you already know a proprietor who is willing to offer you a residency, or unless you first become very active in the social/bar scene for at least a few months and get to know owners, bartenders - and mostly get a feel for what is being played.

You would also be working illegally and subject to deportation if caught.
