least expensive way to phone the States

My husband and i have been visiting St. Martin for years, unfortunately we return home with a exorbatant cell bill! Does any one know what other options are out there? We will be returning in March for a few weeks and would appreciate some info.

I would suggest you rent a phone from Sharon Harris

She seems to be the most reasonable round. Her service is highly rated by visitors.

There are many internet cafée around, if you can communicate by e-mail and do not need to actually talk in person every day.

IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET YOU MIGHT CONSIDER OPENING A SKYPE ACCOUNT / IT ONLY COST ABOUT $30.00 A YEAR + ABOUT .17 PER MINUTE TO AND FROM ST.MAARTEN / YOU CAN USE IN MOST COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD FOR SIMILAR RATES PER MINUTE / IT HAS WORKED GREAT FOR ME

We purchased a cell phone from the shop in Bellevue across the street from St. Severin Restaurant. We use the amigo card for local minutes and purchase an intercard for calls to the states. Intercard fees are about 50 cents a minute to call US right now. It works for us.
