Thanks, Ed. Were Romel and Jean Louis still bartending at the La Samanna beach bar?

Is there a restaurant at LaSamanna Beach? Where is LaSamanna Beach located? French/Dutch - Near Grand Case, Marigot, Phillipsburg? Someone told us there was a very good restaurant called LaSamanna but we haven't seen anything written about on any website.

Could be mistaken but I believe LaSamana is a very up-scale resort that caters to the R & F. There is a restaraunt there and it is (or was) verrrrry exxxxxpensive!! This resort is on Baie Longue. There is also a restaraunt called LaSantal which is also quite pricey (if it's still in business) but was known to be very good. In any event, plan on dropping some serious $$$ to eat at either place. If you want to try some real good food go to the place on Friar's Bay Beach, enjoy your lunch and get your sun chairs for free.

The Friar's Bay Cafe is the name. It is on the Right side of the beach (facing the ocean). The menu is surprisingly extensive and the food is very very good. Free chairs and umbrellas if you eat there. There are some pics on our site.
