Yes - take your laundry to Jakes or Shrimpy's. They will do it for you.

Where are you staying? There may be laundry facilities at your resort. Many have them.

Or ask your housekeeper. They may do it for you also.

Thank you so much. We're staying in Beachside Villas and they do not have laundry facilities. With all the restrictions on baggage, this is useful info.

if you make arramgenets with your maids they will pick up and deliver right to your rental property and you dont have to run around doing it yourself. They usually charge reasonable amounts for this service and often they really appreciate the extra chance to make a few dollars. Its more than worth checking to see if they do it where your staying.

We've used Jakes and perhaps we're the odd men out to have a problem with them but I don't think I'd go back, personally. They were reasonably priced and it was a good service in that you brought your things in the early AM and you got them back the same PM, but we had several items that were ruined and the only thing I could think of was the dryer temps were just too high. Nothing of great value but we found an alternative means that worked better for us.

There is another laundry service in the same area, but across the street and 'upstairs' somewhere very near Zee Best which I believe is run by a French lady and supposedly, she does an awesome job. Again, we didn't use them but heard very good things about them from two different sources but I'm embarassed to say, I've forgotten the name.

We made a contact with one of our resort maids and she has taken very good care of us for the past few years so that would be my personal recommendation, assuming you're staying in a hotel or resort where you have reasonable contact with the staff and can find someone willing to do this. Our maid appreciates the opportunity to make a little extra money and she really does take very good care of us.

Thanks, Pat. We're staying in Beachside Villas and it only has 13 units with daily maid service. I'll try your suggestion.

New residents on the island and in dire need of "do it yourself" laundromats near Pointe Blanche or anywhere on the island at this point.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks much!

check Bobby's Marina or at the Doc Maartin marina..maybe there is one there for the yacht people
