Free WiFi

Does anyone know how available Free WiFi is on the island ? In the Hotels, bars and restaurants ?
I am planning on bringing my netbook with me so I can keep a blog and journal and post them with pictures to various sites I belong to, but didn't know how available WiFi was, or how strong the connections might even be to warrant bringing the netbook at all.

I will also google specific hotels/restaurants to see if their sites mention it there.

Or,.... if not available free, can one buy a card (with a code) or key to obtain service ? If so, who are the main local service providers and which would you recommend ? I can then google them further.

Thanks for any advice and info.

Hi Andrea,

I'm not sure where just yet as I won't be travelling until Sept/Oct this year, but mostly likely on the French side near Marigot

Mathieu,

It's a small island and there are many free hot spots within a 10 minute car drive of each other. They do change if a place closes etc, so it's difficult to list. If you are mobile you simply won't have a problem getting online with your netbook.......ask around upon arrival.

Mathieu,
Lot's on Dutch side. Free.
Do a search.
I know for a cup of coffee you can sit at Capuccino, Top Carrots, etc.
Jimbo's is free, you can just sit there before they open and no one bothers you.
All the yachties are there.
Atrium is free in the lobby.
I believe Greenhouse has it etc.
French side you need to do a search.
Cheers
