Nice to see you back!! I'm still here, still taking the kids to the Towers yearly and planting myself on Mullet for two weeks!!! Heading back to the island in November - sans kids! (and parents winking smiley!!!!) But looks like I'm heading to Vegas in January - big birthday coming up! Hubby says Mirage? (I want to see the Cirque show LOVE!!!) what do you suggest!

Again - welcome back!

Hi Kim. Happy to hear everything is going well at the Towers. It really is a timeshare success story.

Yes, the Cirque show "LOVE" gets great reviews, go for it. The Mirage just completed a major interior renovation and the resturant "STACK" everyone seems to like, try it. Don't forget the "$20 trick" at check-in at the Mirage for a possible free upgrade to a better room.

Edited to add:

The best way to book the big shows like Cirque (you won't find discount sales at places like "Tix4 Tonight" etc) is by calling the box office (or on line) directly at the Mirage and paying with a credit card. Book in advance before leaving for the trip; these shows routinely sell out.

By booking directly with the hotel, you can cancel with a full refund up to 24hrs before showtime. (the on site box office sells unsold seats two hours before showtime on a walk up, "first come, first serve" basis; yes, the tickets are still full price.) Also, you can discuss seat location and availability etc. With Ticketmaster etc, it usually costs more for the tickets (sometimes a lot more) and the cancellation rules aren't as customer friendly.

Oops, almost forgot. Here's a big discount sale, ironically, by Ticketmaster. This is a rare occurrence and usually Ticketmaster isn't the way to go. Summer is a slow period which accounts for this sale, but it looks like a good one.

Edited to add: On the other hand, after rereading your post, I guess you're going in January and not this summer. :-)
